Thomas Becket Catholic School

Thomas Becket Catholic School

A Catholic Community. Christ's presence comes through us, it follows that therefore we are creating:

A Learning Community. Learning is at the heart of what we do. We want our school to be a place where outstanding learning takes place. The students learn, the parents learn and the staff learn. As professionals, we are responsible for setting the culture and the climate, this learning culture is down to us. We want to be the best school we can possibly be.

A Listening Community. St Thomas was the man who listened to his conscience - we listen to the students, the parents, each other. If we listen hard enough to them we will know how to move forward.

Our Core Values are: Faith, Justice, Compassion, Truth and Respect

Faith

We can only come to know God through having Faith.

We have Faith in our abilities and in others' to achieve our goal.

We show Faith by being optimistic and by having the aspiration to succeed.

Justice

We are called to walk "Justly" with God.

We are open and fair with each other.

We give the right of equality and offer opportunity to all.

Compassion

Compassion: the carrying of each other's burden is the law of Christ - Galatians.

We show compassion by being considerate of others and by being supportive to them.

We care for and we value each other.

Truth

God is what is most real, for what is real is most true. God is Truth.

We are responsible and honest in our actions, thoughts and feelings.

We are trusting in ourselves and of others to do the right thing.

Respect

Everyone is made in the image of God. For that reason alone every living person is to be treated with the utmost respect.

We show respect through our tolerance and seeking to understand each other.

We give respect by being appreciative of others' time, efforts and commitment.

Chaplaincy is an integral part of life at our school, read more about the role of Chaplaincy at Thomas Becket here.
