‘Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead’ James 2: 14-17
We want our students to recognise modern social structures, demonstrate their humility in addressing them, and advocate the moral agency and responsibility to respond to them. We would like our Sixth Form students to have the opportunity of bringing their interests , concerns, and loves to bear.
We intend for our students to complete the course with a good sense of Catholic social teaching and more developed sense of themselves as persons serving the common good.
The course allows our students:
- to develop appropriate skills; ability to listen, to think critically, spiritually, ethically and theologically.
- to foster appropriate attitudes; for example respect for truth, for the views of others, awareness of the spiritual, or moral responsibilities, of the demands of religious commitment in everyday life and especially the challenges of living in multicultural, multifaith society.
The teachers at St Thomas Becket Sixth Form have gone above and beyond to equip us with valuable skills necessary for life after Sixth Form.
